Täuffelen sits on the south shore of Lake Biel, about twelve kilometres from Biel. The BTI train follows the lake straight to Biel station, a few minutes' walk from GYAN.
Täuffelen-Gerolfingen on the south shore
Täuffelen and Gerolfingen together form one municipality on the south shore of Lake Biel. Gerolfingen is right on the water, Täuffelen sits a little higher up behind it, and the fields of the Seeland stretch out all around. A short way to the west, the Aare flows into the lake through the Hagneck canal, built as part of the Jura water correction in the 19th century. Biel is at the other end of the lake, about twelve kilometres away, and is the nearest town for the whole south shore.
Along the lake to Biel on the BTI
The easiest way in is the BTI train, which links Biel, Täuffelen and Ins and is run today by Aare Seeland mobil. From Täuffelen it follows the south shore through Ipsach and Nidau to Biel station. From there it's a few minutes' walk to Zentralstrasse 22. On the way you get a view of the lake instead of traffic.
By car, take the south shore road through Sutz and Ipsach to Nidau and on into central Biel. Allow a generous 20 minutes and park in one of the public car parks in the city centre.
One trip, everything sorted
If you're coming all the way from the south shore, it makes sense to get hair and beard done in one visit. The GYAN Classic package combines haircut and beard in about 30 minutes for CHF 65, or CHF 60 as a walk-in. The GYAN Premium package adds a wash and styling, about 40 minutes for CHF 75.
If you really want to take your time, the GYAN Full Service with haircut, beard, Face Treatment, wash and styling is the most complete option, about 50 minutes. The Face Treatment, with hot towel, cleansing and care, can also be booked on its own. You'll be in a brown leather chair, with a red Persian carpet on the wall.
