From Nidau to GYAN on Zentralstrasse 22 it's only about two kilometres, a quick trip on foot, by bike or on the BTI line.
Nidau and Biel: a border you barely notice
Nidau is a small historic town with a castle, sitting where Lake Biel drains into the Nidau-Büren canal. To the north it runs straight into Biel, and moving between the two you often won't notice where one municipality ends and the other begins. So if you live in Nidau, Biel isn't really the town next door, it's part of your daily routine: work, the station, shopping, all just minutes away.
From Nidau to Zentralstrasse
Around two kilometres separate Nidau from our salon at Zentralstrasse 22. That's an easy distance on foot or by bike, flat the whole way. If you'd rather take public transport, hop on the BTI line Biel-Täuffelen-Ins, which runs through Nidau and ends at Biel station; buses also link Nidau with the station. From there it's just a few minutes' walk to us. By car, allow about ten minutes into central Biel, where you'll find public parking.
A cut that fits into your lunch break
Because the trip is so short, a haircut slots easily into your day. A men's haircut takes about 20 minutes with us, a beard trim about 15. Including the trip there and back, that fits into a longer lunch break. Want both at once? Go for the GYAN Classic package, haircut and beard in about 30 minutes.
You can book online and get your confirmation right away. Dropping in works too, since walk-ins are welcome during opening hours. Monday to Wednesday we're open 9am to 7pm, Thursday and Friday until 8pm, and Saturday from 8:30am to 6pm. On Sundays the salon is closed.
What to expect at GYAN
In the salon you sit in a brown leather chair, with a red Persian carpet hanging on the wall. Before the scissors and clippers come out, we look at how your hair grows, where the crowns sit and how much time you want to spend on it in the morning. Short fade or classic side part, the goal is a cut that still holds its shape a few weeks later. You can pay in cash, by card or with TWINT.
After your appointment you're back in Nidau within minutes, maybe for a walk along the lakeshore or the canal. Living further south along the lake? There's also a page for Ipsach.
