Barber near Studen
Studen sits at the foot of the Jensberg, about nine kilometres from Biel. By car you're in the centre in around 15 minutes, by bus at Biel station, close to GYAN.
The Jensberg and a slice of Roman history
The Seeland is mostly flat, but near Studen the wooded Jensberg rises up. It's a popular spot for walks, and in Roman times the settlement of Petinesca stood on the hill and at its foot. So Studen is a place where nature and history sit close together. For everyday life, though, many people here look towards Biel: for work, school or shopping.
From Studen into central Biel
The roughly nine kilometres to Biel go by quickly. By car, allow about 15 minutes into the centre and park in one of the public car parks. Without a car, take the bus to Biel station, then walk a few minutes to Zentralstrasse 22.
All about the beard
This page is mostly about one thing: your beard. With a beard trim we sort out length and shape, then sharpen the lines with the razor. It takes about 15 minutes and costs CHF 20. If you prefer something more traditional, book the hot towel shave: a wet shave with lather, a hot towel and aftercare.
Want hair and beard done in one go? The GYAN Classic package is the obvious pick. And if your skin needs some attention after wind and weather, there's the GYAN Face Treatment with hot towel, cleansing and care.
You'll sit in a brown leather chair, with a red Persian carpet on the wall. A calm spot for a quarter of an hour that's all about your beard.
A trim before your day out
On Saturdays we open at 8:30am. An early slot leaves the rest of the day free, maybe for a loop around the Jensberg. During the week we're open Monday to Wednesday 9am to 7pm, and Thursday and Friday until 8pm. Closed on Sundays.
To lock in a time, book online and get instant confirmation. Walk-ins are welcome during opening hours as well. Pay in cash, by card or with TWINT.
To give you an idea of prices: the hot towel shave is CHF 28, and the face treatment CHF 25 for about 20 minutes. The GYAN Classic package with haircut and beard is CHF 65, or CHF 60 as a walk-in, and takes around half an hour. Zana and Hikmet both work in the salon, and for now you can book Zana online.
